Abbreviations and acronyms are generally translated as an extended term the first time they appear in the text and, in subsequent occurrences, it is fine to use the acronym.\\

It is very important to remember that acronyms do not take final stop nor are they pluralized. Besides, some of them (as “pyme”) have become common nouns.
